Connecting Christians in the UK

My passion and the way that i worship is dance. Many people believe that dance has no place in the church and that it is something sinful and wrong that the world has thought up. Other people believe that it is meant to be in the church. I want to know peoples views on the subject and i would like to know what other churches believe.

You can worship with dance and you can spread message with danse performance. So, dance is pawerful thing, because it is like words, zou spread message. Try to find people who like similar style and goal according Jesus. So, you can be part of group where are people from different churches or you find such church where it is possible do it.I think we can worship Jesus with all tzpes of music and in also all cultural style. So, it is with danse as well. Because where zou are with your taste and waz of worship zou will attrack similar people to motivate them for Jesus, love, art with Jesus, spreding love and Light and peace, worship Him.

Dance is cool. I'd hate to only be able to worship with my voice and mind and not my body too!

As Liz says, David danced before the Lord and I believe it is still used in many, many churches today. I use flags during worship - some of the people in my church aren't too keen on it, but others have said it helps them in their worship as well as helping me in worship.

defenitely, and the waving of the flag is good too, I love dancing in worship and if it gives someone the liberty too to join in even better.

I think that it is really encouraging that people believe that dance has a place in the church and good to know so many think that :)

No. Who do you think you are ? King David?? Its not in the New Testament and leads to sensuality. Avoid it in public.

Since when did the "old" Testament deity differ from the "new" Testament deity?
This sounds like Marcionism to me

Hang on. Who says it leads to sensuality? Have you watched every person dance and found them all sensual? Was King David sensual? Is Davidic dancing as practiced in many Messianic congregations sensual. I have watched a girl at church who has had ballet training, and what I see is not a lead to sensuality but a deeply passionate, expressive act of worship. I have frequently been told by people that my dancing in church is an inspiration to them. Not one person has ever mentioned finding it leads them to sensuality.

I love to dance! ;) I am used to people dancing in church, when people dance with ribbons and flags it is the most beautiful sight! We are to worship in spirit and in truth, so don't hold back, give your all to God I say!

Amen Tanya:

Dance is used by God for many purposes, and one we miss sometimes Warfare, to dance, means we have to make the choice to, and it moves our spirit, it is very hard to dance when you are depressed, tired, and not at peace with God. It is a declaration of our place in Christ, we are free, not boxed in, not shackled, FREE.. Please your father in heaven and bring a smile to his face, and join in with the angels and dance, they do you know.

I have blogged on this sublect for thoes interested

God Bless
